Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Are you interested in promoting your event to a wider audience outside the Nelson Tasman region? If your event is located within the Nelson City Council boundaries and occurs between 1st April and Labour weekend, you may be eligible to apply for sponsorship funding from the Nelson Events Marketing & Development Programme.
The Nelson Events Marketing & Development Programme has been established to stimulate Nelson City's economy by bringing new spending through visitors coming to Nelson for distinct events in the shoulder and off season. The Programme is funded by the Nelson City Council.
To be eligible for sponsorship funding, your event must meet the Application Requirements and have synergy with the Guiding Principles. To find out more about these, visit http://www.itson.co.nz/about/.
Application Process
To apply for Nelson Events Marketing & Development Programme sponsorship:
1. Check your event meets all Application Requirements and demonstrates a strong synergy with the Guiding Principles.
2. Meet with the Events Marketing & Development Assistant at Nelson Tasman Tourism to discuss your event and the fit with the sponsorship framework and the Nelson events calendar.
3. Complete Nelson Events Marketing & Development Programme Sponsorship Application form.
4. Prepare supporting documentation.
5. Submit application.
Note: All applications will be treated confidentially. Applicants must be available to provide additional information and attend an interview, if required.
The Events Management Committee, comprising representatives from the Nelson City Council, Nelson Regional Economic Development Agency and Nelson Tasman Tourism, is responsible for assessing applications and allocating sponsorship funds.
