Jordie Lane is a singer/songwriter who is widely regarded as a leading as the leading Australian folk artist of his generation. Fresh from being the support act on Bill Bragg's recent OZ tour, Jordie's sole Nelson gig is at The Free House this Saturday.
A dynamic live performer, Jordie’s stage show centres around his story-telling and crowd interaction. In the vein of countryman Colin Hay, his performances shift from a comedy show, to folk concert, to rock n roll gig in the space of two songs.
Marlon Williams, lead singer of Christchurch alt-country group The Unfaithful Ways sings songs of love, loss and tales drenched in whisky so smoky, we'll have to take all the batteries out of the fire alarms.
Bryce Wastney is a talented and experienced singer songwriter, born in Nelson and now back living here. 2012 saw the release of his 2nd album titled ‘Hope Mountain’. Bryce’s latest songs travel in a folk direction and even fit into the country genre. The album was recorded in a retired TV broadcast room at Classic Hits FM in Nelson. The tracks were recorded live and edited by award winning kiwi producer, Mike McCarthy at Manuka Studios.
