Dream Weaving

Sunday 4th November 2012–Sunday 31st March 2013

"Dream Weaving" is one of four regularly scheduled Creative Woolcraft Workshops. It is a farm-based, small group workshop where participants learn a simple way to weave stunning squares of coulourful fabric on a diagonal weaving board. This weaving technique is ideal for travelling. The equipment fits into the palm of your hand, and you can pick it up or put it down at any stage of the work. These workshops are designed for visitors to Nelson, but are equally suitable for locals.

Start with a skein of funky, hand-dyed yarn, a diagonal weaving board and a crochet hook. Using a continuous yarn, you will weave several coaster-size mats displaying a stunning mesh of colour.

You'll also learn how to quickly join squares to create larger pieces of fabric suitable for bags, hats, cushions and rugs.

You may wish to take other Creative Woolcraft Workshops, including "Spinning Yarns", where you can create your own uique yarn for use in your "Dream Weaving".
