Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Friday 12th–Sunday 28th October 2012
Tucked away in a forgotten dark corner of Founders Park, there is a unique garden.
Having been left to it’s own devices, life, but not as we know it, has been evolving in the shadows.
James Wheatley, landscape gardener has teamed up with John-Paul Pochin in an unlikely collaboration to create a fantastical interactive garden that fuses the organic nature of multi layered tropical planning with the inorganic computer generated life.
The combination of John-Paul’s lighting and computer technology and James’ experience creating award winning show gardens has led to the creation of an experimental garden that pushes the boundaries of their normal work.
‘It allows me to temporarily set aside horticultural restrictions and create something more theatrical’ – James Wheatley
