Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Sunday 9th–Sunday 16th September 2012
The Fulton Hogan Basketball League has two grades and 16 teams competing weekly for 15 weeks. The league is predominantly for people with learning needs but as we promote ability and opportunity the focus is on a person's ability and whether this ability as at the level of our two grades. All players are registered members of Nelson Basketball Association
Many thanks must go to Fulton Hogan for their ongoing support and belief in Inclusion, Nelson Basketball Association, all our volunteers and players, and the Inclusive Sport Trust who governs the league.
The league runs for 15 weeks through the winter and includes a coaches team. training sessions for the teams are held weekly.
Lastly, this is more than just a game. we are actively involved in the community with members participating in 'The Beach Cleanups", "Relay 4 Life" and Christmas Parades.
Parents, care givers and teachers have all commented on how the league has had a major positive impact on the players self esteem, social skills and membership of our community.
Come along and enjoy, it will be one of the highlights of your year!
Cheers
