Piano and Cello Recital with
Jun & Yuuki Boutere-Ishido
A piano and cello recital by Christchurch brothers Jun (piano) and Yuuki (cello) Bouterey-Ishido will show case the talent of these young rising stars, who have delighted audiences extensively overseas in Asia, England and Europe.
Both are currently studying in Europe and this is a rare opportunity to hear the two play together in New Zealand.
The programme includes Beethoven, Mozart, Schumann and Brahms. It will also include Jun Bouterey-Ishido's own composition, Memoriam, first played when he won the Kerikeri International Piano Competition. This piece is based on the poetry of Hashizume Bun, a survivor of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
In an interesting shift the Bouterey-Ishido brothers will change instruments to play Gao Ping's Questioning the Mountain. Jun will play the violin and Yuuki the piano, instruments on which they also excel.
