Surgery for Obesity Talk

Tuesday 18th September 2012

Obesity is reaching epidemic proportions in many countries. For the extreme cases of obesity non-surgical treatment fails in 97% of cases, whereas weight reduction surgery is invariably highly successful. This talk will briefly outline the history of surgery to manage obesity and bring the audience up to date with current surgical options. The talk will be illustrated with clear surgical details and also some operative videos so the audience can appreciate the modern nature of keyhole surgery for this disorder.
