Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 3rd March 2012
The Rai Challenge is a place where the district's tough fellas come to compete - teams of three (or less) shear a sheep, skin a possum and carry a wild boar around a VERY tough obstacle course.
Great prizes for champion and runner up teams and every paid entry is in the draw to win a hunting safari with Southern Hunting Adventures, come and try your luck.
This year trade exhibiters also have the opportunity to give it a go, but we'll go easy on them - and omit the sheep and the possum!
After the main event swarms of children use part of the obstacle to race, carrying either a possum or a small pig. From 4 -14, boys and girls, there's classes for everyone. Free entry, prizes and a lolly scramble.
Whether watching or participating, you'll have to come via the A&P ticketing process, so why not make a day of it and support this awesome rural show.
