The Firework Maker's Daughter by Philip Pullman

Theatre Alive and Body in Space (the team who brought you The Twits) are thrilled to be working together again to bring you this wondrous story from the author of The Golden Compass. It is a gripping adventure the whole family will never forget!

The Firework-Maker's Daughter was originally a classroom play for author Philip Pullman's own pupils and is a brilliant and inspiring story about Lila, whose dreams of becoming a firework-maker are dashed when her father tells her it is no job for a girl as it may be dangerous for her and that it may also prevent her from finding a husband.

Setting out in secret for Mount Merapi in search of the elusive royal sulphur, Lila faces pirates and supernatural creatures until Chulak arrives to help her with Hamlet the elephant. And soon she must return to save her imprisoned father with a firework display that must rival the best on earth!
