Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Sunday 21st October 2012
Experience the country atmosphere, at the 11th annual Ngatimoti Festival on Sunday October 21.
Traditional country fair activities such as wood chopping, sheep-shearing and pony rides will feature at the festival, being held in the Ngatimoti School grounds. Festival goers will be able to enter the ‘guess where the cow pat will land’ competition, climb the crates, operate a digger or purchase plants for a spring garden.
The festival has an excellent line up of live music, a Jaguar car display and quality craft stalls. Amongst a myriad of things for the children to do are a free Noddy train, the free animal tent and a range of KidZone activities to challenge skills or test luck. Art, crafts and second hand treasures will be on sale, along with a delectable array of food and drink such as spit lamb sandwiches, curries, beer and wine. There will also be a silent auction with lots of excellent goods on offer
The festival runs from 10am to 4pm and entry is just $2 per person. For those travelling to the festival from outside the Motueka Valley, look out for the scarecrows marking the route to the school grounds.
