Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 18th August 2012
Living Legends lives on. Living Legends is a community conservation project that was set up in 2011 to commemorate New Zealand’s hosting of Rugby World Cup. Last year we planted 83,000 trees. The target is to plant 170,000 before the end of 2015.
Our planting site for the Tasman area is the Wakapuaka Wildlife Reserve, Boulder Bank Road, where last year, with your help, we planted 5,000 native trees and shrubs. This year we have an additional 2,600 trees to plant - please come and join us again!
Each planting project is dedicated to a regional ‘Rugby Legend’ who was selected in 2011 by their provincial rugby union. These Rugby Legends are people who have made an outstanding contribution to rugby in New Zealand. Come along to a Living Legends event this year and you may be lucky enough to meet your local Rugby Legend! Todd Blackadder is the Tasman area Legend.
The event is free but we would ask that you register at our website to let us know you're going to be coming along.
