Your guide to events in Nelson, New Zealand
Saturday 17th December 2011–Sunday 12th February 2012
The annual Portage Ceramic Awards, facilitated by Lopdell House Gallery in Titirangi and The Trusts Community Foundation, is an important and influential event for New Zealand ceramics.
This award offers a $15,000 top prize, which encourages ceramicists throughout the country to submit their work for evaluation by an international judge. Australian potter, Janet Mansfield, has been announced as the judge for the Portage Ceramic Awards 2011 and successful entries will be presented as an exhibition at Lopdell House Gallery in Titirangi.
This year, a selection of entries will be re-presented at The Suter Gallery in Nelson as a showcase of contemporary New Zealand ceramic practice.
