When Yulia arrived from Russia at the age of 16, she had nothing but the clothes on her back and dream for a better future here in New Zealand. After mastering English and with no formal singing training, Yulia was discovered after entering a television talent contest. She is now one of New Zealand’s biggest selling recording artists.

The Yulia and Friends show allows her to give back to the communities that have given her so much.
Over the course of the day Yulia will pass on the knowledge she has gained to aspiring singers from around the region. Young and old are all welcome to participate in these free tutorials.

The evening will consist of a classic dinner and show experience with a slight twist. The best students from the day will be handpicked by Yulia to perform beside her that evening on the Playhouse stage.

Booking will be essential for the evening show, but please feel free to come along during the day to observe her teaching the students.

Students must sign up beforehand and provide a backing track or sheet music for their performance during the day and night.
