My first ever solo show was at ‘Momentum’ and now – over 2 years later I have chosen to exhibit here again. It is a celebration of all that I have achieved as an artist, including becoming full time and the acquisition of not only new gallery outlets, but the knowledge of my own direction as an artist. It is an exciting position to be in – creating that sense of ‘nirvana’ – as though I have truly found myself.
I think artists are their own worse critiques – constantly wanting to explore, experiment and conquer their latest inspiration, pulling it apart when they have done so and then reinventing it to start the whole process again. For myself - it is when the thinking stops and the piece seemingly takes on its own perception of life – breathing for itself - that true Nirvana is reached. It is in that state of ‘Nirvana’ that an artist produces their best work. Enjoy.
