Working with clay has been a life long activity for Mirek Smíšek, starting from his childhood in Czechoslovakia, to launching his independent ceramics career in Nelson in 1954 and continuing today in his studio near Waikanae.
This exhibition was curated by Gary Freemantle for the Mahara Gallery, Waikanae and includes loans from Nelson collections.
