ladoCiego is made up of four traditional tango dancers who incorporate elements of modern dance into their latest show, peso medio. This work takes place in an empty space, beginning with only a man. Identifying deeply with the tango, it can be seen as an allegory of the struggle for existence.
Fear, miseries, joys and anxieties are presented in this story through dance, music and singing. The figure of ‘the boxer’ is seen facing his opponents and the constant probability of the feared knockout, a parallel to the unveiling of the soul of the hero in the difficult task of facing life. The emptiness and the loneliness of the ring become a metaphor for everyday states within a narrow world where opportunity is often lacking.
