“My Fair Lady” opened on Broadway in 1956to unanimously glowing reviews, such as “A masterpiece of musical comedy”, and “One of the loveliest shows imaginable”, and it has often been described as “The perfect musical”.
Based on George Bernard Shaw’s novel “Pygmalion”’ it was a smash hit on both sides of the Atlantic with young actress Julie Andrews being ‘discovered’ for the role of Eliza.

Nelson Youth Theatre brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Lead roles, with Paul Williams playing Higgins, Millie Besley and Jane Hawkins sharing the role of Eliza on alternate nights, Chris Goodyear playing Colonel Pickering, Ben Chambers playing Freddy and Peter Walter playing Doolittle.
