'Transformation' Feature Exhibition at the World of WearableArt & Classic Cars Museum

Saturday 12th June–Monday 1st November 2010

The feature exhibition in the Car Gallery features the progression of the site that now houses the World of WearableArt and Classic Cars Museum. Standard Triumph purchased the site in 1964 to establish a car assembly plant. Cars were shipped from the UK as CKD (completely knocked down), and using local components, a myriad of parts were transformed into cars. The plant was assembling Honda cars when it closed in 1998, but one of the buildings was to take on a new lease of life.

The end of one era was the start of another with the transformation of the distribution warehouse into a world class visitor attraction.

The Montana WOW® Awards show began in 1987, and after years of homelessness, finally had a purpose designed setting to display and conserve its WearableArt™ collection when the Museum opened in 2001- a long held dream of WOW founder Suzie Moncrieff.
